News!!!NET SHEPHERD SPINS OUT "STRATEGY BRIDGE" SUBSIDIARY Businesses separated for clear focus and growth for Net Shepherd and Strategy Bridge Calgary, Alberta - Wednesday, March 15, 2000, 2:01 PM EST Net Shepherd Inc. (CDNX: WEB) today announced that it is spinning out its Internet business strategy consulting and solutions delivery operation into a private company: Strategy Bridge Inc. The move will: 1. Enable Net Shepherd to become highly focused on its primary source of shareholder value; the work done by its community of Internet-linked Distributed Task Forces, enabled by its Internet Community Management System (ICMS). 2. Enable Strategy Bridge to realise the potential that it has independent of Net Shepherd's core business. Net Shepherd will retain a minority shareholding in Strategy Bridge and is seeking investment and business partners that will facilitate rapid growth through acquisitions. Strategy Bridge has existing revenue streams, a customer base, an established track record of linking legacy systems to e-commerce and a wealth of talent in the Internet space. It currently employs about 20 people, projected to grow to over 50 by year-end. Strategy Bridge is looking to recruit a CEO with experience in Internet business consulting, technology based solutions, customer relationship management, wireless communications and supply chain management. Its target customers are companies seeking to transform their businesses using Internet technologies. "We help our customers develop strategy to leverage proven eBusiness technologies to meet their business objectives in three key ways," said Ric Charron, interim CEO of Strategy Bridge. "These are: 1. Increasing the effectiveness of business relationships through electronic Customer Relationship Management to build, nurture and maintain relationships with your customers, channel partners and suppliers. In effect to build new revenue with existing and potential customers. 2. Increasing the efficiency of transactions and business processes with eCommerce, wireless and workflow systems to provide seamless cross-functional processes. Here we focus on decreasing time and costs of business processes. 3. Integrating legacy computing systems with Internet technologies to reduce gaps in information flow and management. In most cases we can build on your current computing infrastructure without tearing it down and completely rebuilding it." "The company makes money from three complementary business models", continued Charron. "There are professional service fees from the Internet business consulting activity, project implementation fees and software licensing fees." "Our experience with the Internet is a key differentiator for Strategy Bridge", said Charron. "Although there are plenty of competitors selling shrink-wrapped products, very few of them have our first-hand experience of building Internet-based businesses and technologies. We 'get the Net' and can help others to do so too. We can help companies to use solutions in a strategic way that generates new revenue streams and acquires and retains customers in the light of a connected world." "Although we are formally launching the new company now, we are building on a successful track record stretching back over ten years. We are not a start-up", emphasized Charron. "For example", he commented, "we have just completed a successful $100,000 pilot project with Growth Experts Inc., who provide outsourced sales and marketing activities from campaign management to lead generation. We expect this to move into a more substantial implementation phase shortly. Commented Scott Dow, the President of Growth Experts: "We have been very impressed and pleased with the quality and professionalism of the company." "Another example in the Internet business consulting area comes from our work over several years with Wallace & Carey, the largest independent retail distribution company in Canada", continued Charron. "Having previously undertaken their systems integration, our recent Internet strategy consulting work has led to projects in on-line cataloguing and a supply chain management solution." Commented Tom Heywood, the CFO of Wallace & Carey: "They have played an important role in the development of our Internet strategy and have worked well with us." "A particularly exciting area is the introduction of wireless Internet-connected devices, which have great potential for improving the efficiency and speed with which many businesses conduct their operations", said Charron. "The commercial potential of customized applications for these devices is leading to serious discussions with some large potential alliance partners." "In the coming months, you can expect to see acquisitions in the areas of technology partners, solutions providers, systems integrators and the designers of sophisticated Web presences", concluded Charron. "You can find further information on our website: www.strategybridge.com."
