The words "I excerpted your words as you wrote them" is close to oxymoronic.

This is what you excerpted them from, for a reason: to imply I said that I could "live with" Gore. (Which of course implies a kind of acceptance of the situation, or resignation, or inner reconciliation):

..if it looks like there will be a
Democratic Congress, I may vote for Bush. I like to stick a
spoke in their wheels. Of course, if it looks like there may be
a
Republican one, I might be forced to vote for Gore.

"I could live with Bush." That's equally "there" by your reasoning. What I have said most concretely is that I will vote for whichever candidate does not have a congressional majority to strengthen him.

HOWEVER: I stated, expressing myself emotionally, that I would "kill myself" if I were forced to vote for either of the two!

Face it. The statement made by JLA that I said "I could live with Gore" was a fabulation intended to imply a sanguine attitude on my part toward Gore. You have attempted to defend the indefensible by excerpting misleadingly.
