I've found the flea and tick collars the vets carry a whole lot better than the ones in the grocery stores. Lately though we've been going to a liquid the vet carries. 1/2 tube behind the neck and 1/2 tube in front of the tail. After a few minutes they are protected for a couple of months, even if they go swimming.
