Jordan, superconductivity has been around for 50 years and there's not much commercialization. Low, high temperature, doesn't seem to make a difference. It's still a novelty. However, with the move to fuel cells, I could see an interest in motors that use silver instead of copper. The premium over copper for a high tech motor wouldn't be that extravagant IMO. There would also then be good scrap value. <VBG>

Jordan,
Also there is a move afoot which will do away with Pb based solder in all electronics in the US UK & EU. The change will have an alloy which is 3.5 or 4% silver. This alone will increase demand by 14.2M oz each year based on solder used in 1998 - higher now.
