Dear Thread,

I am going to the Shareholders' Annual Meeting on May 11, 2000 in Sunnyvale. If others from this Thread are going it may be nice to link up for lunch or something. I understand that they will be installing seatbelts on the chairs in the company cafeteria to help combat motion sickness should the activity of the past few days be any indication of the bumpy ride there is ahead.

In any case, it is hard to believe we are just two weeks away from closing the books on Q1. I have a feeling that retail sales were hot in Q1 after the banner holiday season. Demand is clearly there. Supply remains the critical issue. I am hopeful that the upcoming elections in Taiwan will conclude without much turmoil. Already at last year's meeting the issue of China's intervention in Taiwan was raised. Eli said he was concerned, but he "wasn't losing any sleep" over the situation. Well, let's hope that the political rumblings settle down.

For the time being it appears that we will be retreating, backfilling and jerking forward in no clear pattern. Find something solid to hold onto. Hopefully there are clear skies ahead.
