GG..

I have done a little trading in German and Aust. and the cost were just brutal ($200-300 minimum). When a lot of people don't realize is the brokers have territory rights. For example, you place a trade through Merill Lynch US desk to buy a stock in Germany. Each desk is responsible for making money and has their own territory. The Merill Lynch US desk will charge you a fee and pass you to the Merill Lynch German desk who charges you another fee. If you try and go directly to the Merill Lynch German desk you get sent right back to the US desk because of the territory rights. Not a surprise that the fees add up.

Since SEG is charging the exact same fee as the broker there is no double charging.

Best Regards
