What about when Wintel starts to win the TPC benchmarks not just in per minute per dollar terms but in absolute terms as well? What about this one? progress.com

Well, UltraSparc III will help SUN performance IMMENSLY relative to the outdated UltraSparc II (assuming Sun achieved a competitive design / assuming TI comes through with a competitive process / and assuming these systems ship by year end) However, that will (maybe) just make them competitive on a performance basis. Regardless, they will get KILLED on price from these WINTEL systems and the SUN margins along with their 100 P/E will be HISTORY. Just a matter of time. THE WATSONYOUTH
