Elmer,

What's to stop AMD from cloning those SSE instructions and according to Paul, they already have.

Intel lawsuits. The same thing that kept AMD non-competitive for the first half of the decade.

Elmer,

Re: Intel must be cheating

For the first time in nine months we agree in principle on something.

The fact that AMD cannot reduce their costs as low as Intel can is not Intel's problem but AMD's.

EP,

What's that mean? Intel is using profits from other parts of its business operations to offset losses with X-Box. Unfortunately for AMD, it doesn't have that kind of financial maneuverability.

Nonetheless I am not worried because I anticipate Intel will continue to misfire for another 2 years and I suspect this X-Box deal will come back to haunt them.
