Q -- <<" how does the street react when CPQ turns
in low numbers but has a rosy future?">> IMO if they miss OP rev they will get MCs butt handed to him in a waste basket. But it will probably sell on good news too. How can we tell when the analysts are hoping for guidence on the rest of the year since little has been said about the qtr. Thats the reason some are saying they will miss and others say 0.16 is in the bag..
<<" I suspect that because of Y2K protective buying and
the normal 1st quarter slow down,">> And also many firms found they overbudgeted for Y2K due to the hype. They have a ton of IS/IT $$ to spend.
<<" CPQ has been soooo ready to move up, and it seems that the storm clouds are blackening, ready
to rain on our party.">> So far CPQ has proven it needs no help.. LOL!
<<" Does someone have a good word?">> Not yet,, listen to the recording again,, at least a little smile...Luck tomorrow!!!;-]

Quent - re: the year started off so badly. - that was already known when 4Q earnings were announced, and recent data shows that the rest of the quarter was strong - so far - so I would not necessarily assume any downward revision from that effect. Likewise the seasonal trend. I think it is too early to assume any bad news.
