- comparing 1950/60's is a waste of time (but a statistical analyst's delight).
- IBM has transformed its biz models many times over, since that timeframe. the 60's/70's/80's model dont hold true for them any more (even if u venture to the late '90's, i suggest, what i said above holds true).

IMHO, read it, make what u will of it from your personal perspective.

BTW: I AM NOT saying some tech stocks are not overvalued. I am just saying the article tends to swing to the other (unrealistic IMHO) extreme.

Also, IMHO, the author of the article does not understand the concept of CAP, for someone like a CSCO.

I wouldn't want to educate the author or market makers on CAP, coz I'd loose my own "CAP on the stock", as an individual investor !

cheers, kumar

FWIW, In regard to the good professor's article, most of these guys I have known are average investors who can't seem to do much better than the s and p b/c they scare themselves out of great investments. I don't know his track record but I am curious about the timing of his article and appearance on cnbc, EVERYONE is a suspect when you see these orderly tech declines like we are having right now and I prefer to stick to my guns and just do nothing. JMO hope I did'nt offend anyone!
