Thanks for the welcome Rick. And Caxton, I can't help your bad taste in beauty - you have to remember that I wasn't looking my best when I met you! Dad is always good for a laugh isn't he? I'm looking forward to hearing about his adventures when he gets back. I've always been here reading the thread, and now that I am working on this computer more or less full-time, I figure I've got time for the occasional post! Isn't it fun watching people try to figure out what G* is worth? No one seems to have much of an idea. Currently the consensus seems to be $4.7 bn, yet just over a month ago it was apparently worth 3 times that! And then we have our lovely Loral which owns 43% of GLP (AND has a few other businesses on the side) trading at a MC of $2.8bn. Their stake in G* at current prices (GSTRF = $16.5/share) is 'worth' $2bn ($4.7*43%) so you can effectively buy ALL their other businesses for a mere $800 mil. I'm sure I'm missing something! Isn't this a great game?!? Ok, better go before I start ranting like my father! [Or is it already too late?] Tarken PS. Hi dad! 8-)
