Dead on. Most journalists are idiots. The good ones wind up writing books, or working for peanuts at small outfits. Very few (John Stossel comes to mind) manage to position themselves to make a real difference. The rest toe the company line, which is hardly impartial. That said, I find it interesting that GE has never really used CNBC to tout GE stock, when they easily could. CNBC is pretty much left alone from an editorial standpoint. The only influence comes from the proclivities of its president, who is known as a complete tyrant in the industry...
