Agreed. Fed is hopeless. The NASD market would not listen to interest rate hikes, in view of the recent bifurcation between the DOW and NASD or the new and the old economy. Although we do not like it, it is coming, in some form or shape. It will get technology mo players' attention. Ram

eli, are rumours concerning raising margin requirements
sweeping the bond trading desks or is that just your
own thoughts? with all due respect, I think Greenie
is a bit too careful to fiddle with that and add another
big unknown catalyst to a volatile market situation.
Don't you think he would be likely to send up a trial
balloon before such a move?

I agree with one of the talking heads who said that was
highly unlikely because it's the small investors who have
all the margin, not the institutions. That move would
just be one more thing which put the screws to the small
fry.
