Carl Thomsen, CFO of DMIC, returned my call today.

Unfortunately, I wasn't in my office. I called yesterday
to try and confirm the Ferris Baker Watts upgrade on DMIC.

Carl confirmed that FBW upgraded DMIC to a strong buy
and said that their price target was $55/sh. He also
mentioned that DB Alex Brown provided an update yesterday.

Carl said that most analysts now have a strong buy
recommendation on DMIC with price targets in the mid-50's.

Digital Microwave Corporation Receives Patents for
Microwave Radio Technologies

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Microwave
Corporation (Nasdaq: DMIC - news), today announced that the
company has received two patents for the technologies
underlying the architecture and performance of the XP4 and
XP4 Plus microwave radios used extensively in communications
networks worldwide.

Patent 5,987,060, ``System and Method of Radio Communication
with an Up-Down Digital Signal Link,' is for technology that
eliminates the degradation of data that typically occurs in
conventional radio design when a signal is fed down a cable
connecting an outdoor unit with an indoor unit. The patented
methodology applied by Digital Microwave recovers data
directly in the outdoor unit so that the degradation will not
occur. The architecture enhances system gain (receive signal
level) and reduces the cost of a point-to-point
communications link.

Patent 6,011,807, ``Method and Apparatus for Transmitting
Data in a High-Speed, Multiplexed Data Communications
System,' is for fast synchronization and rate justification
of data. The technologies improve the radio system's
tolerance of and immunity to noisy conditions, which can
introduce errors in data transmission.

``Receipt of these patents brings recognition of the
leadership that Digital Microwave Corporation brings to the
design and delivery of superior wireless communications
systems,' commented Paul Kennard, Digital Microwave's vice
president of corporate marketing and chief technical officer.
``These enabling technologies in the XP4 product line enhance
network performance and cost efficiency for our worldwide
customers.'

Headquartered in San Jose, California, Digital Microwave
Corporation provides microwave radio solutions to connect,
enable and grow communications networks worldwide. The
Company's industry-leading broadband, medium-capacity and
low-capacity radios transport data, voice, and video for
public and private networks in a wide range of global
environments. Digital Microwave Corporation brings value to a
diverse range of customers through its vast array of quality
systems, services and support.
