Peter, I believe that WIND's very successful equity investments in Liberate (LBRT) and Emultek (EIM), have the potential to offset the share dilution we are experiencing caused by recent acquistions. Whenever those positions are sold, WIND will have the means to easily fund a share buy-back program. And, since I think we can assume that WIND is investing with legally obtained - 'inside information' ... one would hope that the odds for success should be in our favor :) I believe that they also have equity positions in the following privately-held companies: Flashpoint Technology; 3SoftGmbh; and Highlander Engineering. Just think of the fun we will have anticipating those IPOs :) Wind River Acquires New Automotive RT Kernel Technologywindriver.com Wind River Systems Makes a Strategic Financial Investment in Emultek (EMI - 633,752 shares)windriver.com Wind River Systems Participate in $27.5 Million Round of Funding for FlashPoint Technology, Inc.windriver.com Wind River Invests In Highlander Engineering, Developer of Industry-Leading VisiBroker CORBA ORB, Embedded CORBA Runtime Softwarebiz.yahoo.com RE: WIND's investment in Liberate (LBRT - 416,666) After I received the following from WIND's IR person - deanna@wrs.com - LBRT split 2 for 1: > Wind River Systems is an investor in Liberate. We initially invested $2M > to purchase 1.25 million Series E preferred shares in Liberate. Immediately > preceeding the IPO these were subject to a 6:1 reverse split and converted > into common stock - traded under the ticker LBRT. Therefore our 1.25 > million preferred shares were converted into 208,333 shares of LBRT common > stock. While thinking about your question this weekend, I checked out WIND's past Partner News Releases. I know I do not begin to understand all of what I read, but ... again, my impression is that the right things are moving in the right direction :) For easy reading, I have organized them in chronological order. I think you will find it most interesting to see how many of WINS's olde partners have been subsequently been acquired by WIND.
