They are going to replace the mu memory. I believe it is more complicated than just the BIOS. And it is a bunch of notebooks, too. Hundreds of thousands - I'm fuzzy now on exactly how many, 300 thou comes to mind. They didn't say exactly who would pay what for it but I got the impression Dell would bear most of the cost - they changed things afterall and the memory did work in the original scheme.

I do not think Dell will pay for it. 800,000 MODUELS not parts that is > 6.5 million parts. Plus replacement, tech time, shipping, etc..
