This is quite a change in your stance from a year ago. Back then, didn't you argue that SIMD was going to be rendered (no pun intended) obsolete by the new graphics processors?

I was looking at the world from a hardware point of view. Since then I have learned more about the direction that graphics software is headed. Because the graphics hardware is taking care of T+L, the CPU is now free to do sophisticated physics computations. This will lead to very cool graphics and extensive use of SIMD on the CPU.
