The drop is so much worse than my other stocks that I suspect there may be some news involved. Perhaps it's something the general public doesn't know yet, or it may be a slightly delayed reaction to the Sumitomo development of a GaN substrate. If it can be mass produced this might be a very efficient way to make a blue or white LED, since the entire device could be made of various forms of GaN, and SiC wouldn't be needed. Do we have any EE on the thread who could comment on this?

If you've held some of this stock since the 20's this is not a massacre at all. It's a very healthy consolidation...funny thing is..it might not have dipped nearly this much, if not for the good fortune of a NASDAQ correction. Watch it close. Great opportunity coming to ride back up.
CREE is not particularly unusual here..take a look at the charts for TQNT and SDLI (which just split).
