Mr. Brian Kennedy reports
Luxell Technologies has received a new contract from Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Eagan to supply data entry systems that incorporate the Luxell's high-contrast, black layer solid-state electroluminescent flat-panel displays.
The contract is valued at $4.25-million assuming all options are exercised, and calls for deliveries to occur over four years commencing in May. The display systems will serve as the data entry panels included in avionics systems that Lockheed is installing in the P-3C long-range patrol aircraft deployed by the United States Navy.
This is a follow-on contract that extends a relationship with Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Eagan that began in 1997 with an initial $3.2-million contract. It is a strong endorsement of the suitability of Luxell-designed displays for demanding defence applications. The displays are an established element of Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Eagan's continuing program to secure contracts for updating the electronic systems of patrol aircraft in operation throughout the world.
"The Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics & Surveillance Systems-Eagan relationship provides a strong marketing channel for Luxell, and this follow-on order is in keeping with Lockheed's original business forecast to us," observed Brian Kennedy, president and chief executive officer of Luxell. "The new contract speaks eloquently of our ability to compete successfully in the most demanding display markets and we value it highly. Needless to say we are very pleased with it."
