ATLANTA, March 16 (Reuters) - Internet healthcare company Healtheon/WebMD Corp. (NasdaqNM:HLTH - news) said Thursday it has formed a $35 million, five-year partnership with privately held genetic research provider Kiva Genetics.

Under the terms of the deal, Healtheon/WebMD will receive $35 million over five years from Kiva to deliver content to its WebMD (http://www.webmd.com) professional and consumer portals, and Healtheon/WebMD will make an equity investment in Kiva Genetics.

The two companies will share revenues generated by the genetics and genomics channels.

Shares of Healtheon/WebMD slipped 1-5/8 to 32-1/2 in early afternoon Nasdaq trading.

Through this deal, Healtheon/WebMD will promote and market the genetics and genomics channels through online and offline advertising.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Kiva Genetics said it will provide medically reviewed original content to the sites. Kiva will also provide access to genetics and genomics experts for live online chats.

Healtheon/WebMD, which has been actively adding to its roster of partnerships in an attempt to be a key online link connecting doctors, patients and insurance companies, has been beefing up the WebMD side of the business. It recently added an integrative medicine channel.

Integrative medicine is the clinical practice of integrating alternative therapies with conventional medicine.
