I think, Taiwan's ruling KMT party is determined to prop up the taiwan stock market at any cost.

Just like the HK Monetary authority, taiwan has more than enough surplus cash reserves to prop up taiwan stocks indefinitely. Many governments routinely run huge budget surpluses in the asian tiger economies.

Short of all out war, there is little chance of massive drops in UMC.

But, you'll never know. Perhaps if the KMT doesn't win the election, then some short term movement is possible here.
