Perhaps you could give some clues, checking the Alcatel news archives is a cumbersome process.

Newbridge Shareholders to Vote May 16 on Alcatel Bid (Update1)

(Adds closing shares, recalculates value of offer based on
closing Alcatel share price.)

Kanata, Ontario, March 15 (Bloomberg) -- Newbridge Networks
Corp. said its shareholders will vote on a takeover bid by Alcatel
SA, Europe's No. 2 phone-equipment maker, on May 16.

Paris-based Alcatel agreed last month to buy Newbridge for
$6.69 billion in stock and debt to gain telecommunications
switches that could help it catch up with Lucent Technologies Inc.
and Cisco Systems Inc.

Kanata, Ontario-based Newbridge will give Alcatel equipment
that delivers voice, data and video on a single network. Alcatel
will exchange 0.81 American depositary shares for each Newbridge
share and will take on C$428 million ($292 million) in debt.

A location for the meeting hasn't been announced yet, a
Newbridge spokeswoman said.
