"Its activities concentrated on establishing an access product, called Digital Power Line, as a real alternative to the existing telecommunication networks of telcos in the local loop or "last mile". But the company was closed after a decision by its parents that there would not be enough market potential....Demand would be too limited for commercial products, no profitable business case could be formulated and the return on investment would not fulfil the expectations of the parent companies or the main investors."

Ray- I'm still interested in the powerline alternative as a Last Mile solution. I think it's very interesting. But I suppose I don't get too excited about any technology unless it goes beyond a trial stage. Personally I have a heavily weighted tech portfolio. Of which about 80% is telecommunications infrastructure related. But every position I'm in, has a here and now product that has recorded sales and profits from it. If you can find anything beyond a powerline trial, I would be very interested in reading it.

Plus, aren't there quite a few telecom equpipment companies that are developing products for the powerline space. Or at least are supplying test equipment. That bothers me too. So many players in a market that has generated zero dollars in revenues for any SP. At least no revenues that I'm aware of. Let me know if I'm wrong. Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)
