Thanks JD. Nice to be among friends. Curious. I never received a notice from DIR re. not being able to sell a prior's day "buy." The DIR rep would have pointed me to it, I'm sure to prove that they had done all they needed to. The best place for the notice would have been to provide it during the "buy" process. No way do I buy SCON (especially) or any other co. if I know that I might not be able to get out quickly. Even later, if the nature of the problem had been described when I tried to sell, I would never have given up on the interminably long phone hold time and gone back online to continue to try to sell from a system that was doomed to stay down almost all the way to the end of the trading day. Kind of a funny (not Ha Ha)thing is that I was actually feeling a little smug (What's that about pride going before a fall?) about cutting back on my trading, staying in cash, and staying out of the way of DIR's problems that I had been reading about on the threads. And I was only feeling a wee bit envious that I was so far behind RT and barely ahead of Dale so far this year (gg). But I was over 2 1/2 times better than the NASDAQ with less risk--so I thought. Notice I say "was." I'm still better than NASDAQ, but... You apparently hold for longer periods than I, JD, so DIR will probably work fine for you. Also, supposedly, clients having over 100K will be getting their own phone line and team, ala SCH (they don't look quite so bad now). However, the DIR rep told me that even the Select clients (>1M) were subject to 1/2 hour waits Mon./Tues. I say supposedly, because the rep. told me that people were in training now. Then the supervisor said that he could not commit to whether or when the Preferred Client teams would be put in place. Another thing I am going to do tonight is finally order DSL. It's critical to be able to use the phone and stay online. It didn't seem so important before this week. Of course, it doesn't do me much good if the hold times average over an hour--which they do at DIR.
