Hi jp,

because the reason for his sale was to raise cash more or less for an emergency and when people do that they generally had no intention of holding the leaps and will be unsatisfied generally. You have seen me write to never buy back on the up swing but IF one is going to do that then do it under control to where it does not snap back and cost you.

Ask Dealer about her big mistake today that she did manage to rectify but almost cost her about $50,000, she posted it on the thread I believe.

buyback calls slowly so that you can allow them to decay somewhat

it is possible that QCOM could rise 8-12 points over a few weeks
but LEAPS might not rise by more than about 6-8 pts

apprecation of the CREE or ELON shares in the meantime would finance some buyback
then again, could sell LEAPS on either of these

still guessing that QCOM will be more sluggish

also, after meeting a FedCall, everything reverts to normal
margin buypower might reappear, thus allowing partial LEAP buybacks

thanks VoltaKrishna, selling LEAPS is a pinch maneuver
