thanks fro your thoughts -- I'm inclined to agree. Has to be some element of rigging -- either that or some big players got short in a big way and got toasted yesterday.

I think I'm going to be a spectator foir a while -- except for my mining shares -- I didn't think this volatility could last this long without a breakdown. I was wrong. I'm surprised this hasn't scared J6P -- the volatility just keeps increasing and increasing. When will investors panic -- will it take swings in the indices of 10 - 15% a day, 20% a day? I'm dumfounded at this point ...

Saw an interesting documentary on the crash of '29 on the History Channel yesterday. The conditions prevailing at that time and those of today are so similar as to be scary! One interesting tidbit was that as today, most of the bears had been silenced, either by being fired or being severely criticized (unpatriotic!). About the only lone voice warning of imminent danger was Roger Babson. But here is the clincher- the only one who publicly criticized Wall Street and their scams was...... Al Capone!!!! He said that Wall Street was controlled by crooks who were after people's money. And guess what, nobody dared shut him up! Guess it takes one to know one...
