Current First Call consensus EPS results/estimates for JDSU are

for 98-99: .18 (.03 .04 .05 .06),

for 99-00: .37 (.07 .09 .10 .11), and

for 00-01: .56 (.12 .13 .15 .16),

representing 106% and 51% year-over-year growth. Where do your estimates of 100% annualized return over the next four years come from? Are you speaking of revenues or earnings?

Thank you.

<<It's not that he didn't have a valid point, but it is really dumb...REALLY DUMB to use the company with an absolute choke hold on the worlds fiber optic component market, a highly profitable company with no debt, as an example of overvaluation.>>

Joe Kernan must have gotten the message because he just responded on air. I was only half-listenting, but the gist of what he said was that some "Uniphasians" took offense that he got the numbers wrong but that he was just trying to make a point about orders of magnitude. He was dismissive of the concern over details because, had the numbers been right, the order of magnitude would have still been evident and his point was still valid.

I guess everyone is in agreement that the point was valid and that the numbers were wrong. It's unfortunate that he chose JDSU as his foil and that he could be so cavalier about facts he conveys on TV but JDSU is tough enough to brush off a little slap.
