Even if what is below is half true, MENT should double and then some from the $ 14+ levels! Chip Industry sees 10-year growth due to continued expansion of Web (5-1-2000 ISSUE OF IBD). "Driven by the Internet, we expect a golden age of the semiconductor industry over the next 10 years," LSI Logic Chairman Wilfred Corrigan said said at the fourth annual meeting of the World Semiconductor Council. Internet connected devices, including PCs, mobile devices and cellular phones, could grow to between 700 million and 1 billion units by 2003 from some 200 million in 1999. The council also urged China to eliminate tariffs on semiconductors.
