Dear James,
I have also been following the conversation with Robert and Steve off and on. IMO there is a balance point in this. To me it is clear that people have a choice and God has a lot to do with them being able to make that choice. Take a look at
Mark 4
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 that seeing they may see and not perceive:
and hearing that they might hear and not understand:
lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven.

To me these verses reveal that
1 People can choose to be forgiven by hearing the truth.
2 That Jesus does not want some to hear

Basically it does not matter what we think we are told to give the Good News and love others as he has loved us. The rest is up to him and whatever we think does not matter at all.

Lord Bless,
Nancy
P.S. Steve has used scripture for all of his points as well as Robert. God has said:
I will have compassion on whom I have compassion and I will have mercy on whom I have mercy. He will do his good and perfect will. Praise the Lord!!!!

Santiago,

You say, "I see a closed mind that does not listen to reason."

Ok my friend, I did not want to do this (trying to stay single focused), but you made a bold statement here! Robert pretty much makes Christ's going to the cross meaningless. You see, if we are saved before the earth existed ONLY, then Christ did not have to go to the cross. It was waste! We were saved before Christ hung on that cross. Cross not necessary! You actually believe that?

How do you explain all the verses in the bible that speak of accepting and rejecting to accept the gift of salvation? Do you think there are worthless as Robert? Preaching the good news as God tells us too, a waste as well?

Answer prayerfully here.....

God Bless,
Steve
