Forget the last post. I had to jiggle my USB plugs around, and everything fits. We are working fine.

Gemstar is saving my skin, I put a big chunk of my Grandmother-in-laws money into the stock (as well as my own). It looks like she will easily afford the care she needs now.

OT - Hooking up the e-book

Dell computers have not had a 25 pin serial port for several years (since the Pentium came out). You must have been looking at the Parallel port. The 9 pin port may already be connected to something, like your modem. At any rate, an adapter put on your parallel port is not going to work. I would call Dell Tech Service for advice.
