Tribasa-Enron alliance to build $ 100 mm oil pipeline in Mexico

04-05-99 Mexican construction firm Grupo Tribasa and Enron, said they would build a $ 100 mm pipeline that is part of a major oil
refinery expansion project.
The 24-inch wide pipeline will run 635 miles from Cadereyta in the northern, U.S. border state of Nuevo Leon, to Nuevo Teapa in the
Caribbean state of Veracruz,
"This project will have an approximate cost of $ 100 mm and the participation of both companies will be 50-50," Tribasa said.
Tribasa, along with South Korea's Sunkyong and German conglomerate Siemens, was awarded in 1997 the $ 2.46 bn project to
overhaul the Cadereyta refinery for Pemex.

In March of this year Tribasa and Enron Engineering and Construction Co. formed a strategic alliance to participate in transportation,
water and energy projects in Latin America.
