You are kidding, right? The people that particpate in fed auctions are not your aunt gertrude. They are big funds and banks that want the cash. Once they get that cash, what do you think they do with it? Deposit it into CDs?
Stuff it under their mattresses? The people who sell their bonds back to the fed ARE BY DEFINITION GETTING OUT OF THE FIXED INCOME MARKET FOR THAT AMOUNT. In other words, it goes right into the friggin stock market.
