RNWK--Enigma Digital and Kerbango Enter Strategic Promotional Relationship To Offer Music Lifestyles at the Touch of a Button PR NEWSWIRE - March 16, 2000 08:01 SANTA MONICA, Calif. and CUPERTINO, Calif., Mar 16, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Enigma Digital, the Internet's first network of music lifestyle marketplaces, and Kerbango, Inc., an Internet audio services and devices company that has developed the world's first stand-alone Internet radio, today announced they have entered into a strategic co-promotional relationship.
Under terms of the agreement, Enigma Digital's music lifestyle marketplaces KNAC.COM (hard rock), GrooveRadio.com (electronic dance) and LuxuriaMusic.com (ultra-lounge) will occupy premium pre-set locations on the Kerbango Internet Radio genre and sub-genre station listings. In return, Enigma Digital will host Kerbango banner advertisements and promote the Kerbango Internet Radio across its network of music lifestyle marketplaces.
"We're excited to work with Kerbango to embrace the rapidly approaching future where music, content, interactivity and even commerce will not only come from computers but also from appliance-easy devices like the Kerbango Internet Radio. We're looking forward to broadcasts from our communities potentially reaching millions of music fans via the Kerbango Internet Radio and Tuning Service, and generating increased interest within each music lifestyle marketplace," said Bob Ezrin, Chairman and Co-CEO, Enigma Digital.
"Enigma Digital represents music lifestyles that go beyond the realm of traditional broadcast, and this strongly complements our mission to reinvent radio," said Jon Fitch, CEO, Kerbango. "We're looking forward to providing Kerbango Internet Radio listeners with 24/7 access to sounds from Enigma Digital's music tastemakers, access to other fans like themselves and ultimately the ability to purchase music -- all at the touch of a button."
Unveiled last month at DEMO 2000, the technology industry's premier product-launch forum, the Kerbango radio looks like a stylized, decorator-version of an AM/FM radio, and it provides all the features that are typically expected from such a radio. Using an embedded version of RealNetworks(R) RealPlayer(R) G2, the Kerbango Internet Radio also makes it easy to find and tune-in to the thousands of radio stations around the world that are reaching new audiences by broadcasting their audio content on the Internet. The Kerbango radio also plays audio content from Internet-only broadcasters.
The Kerbango radio can be plugged in anywhere in the home or office -- only a power outlet and standard Internet connection -- dial-up, cable modem, DSL, home network, etc. -- are needed. In addition, Kerbango leverages its considerable expertise in user-friendly hardware and software design to make it easy for listeners to find, select and listen to their favorite Internet radio programs using the Kerbango Tuning Service (KTS).
