Tough luck on your lot. California land is a whole nuther ball game. I've heard lots of sob stories about people losing 30-40-50% on their homes in the land of fruits and nuts.

The real estate market is cyclical too, and if you buy at the top of the cycle- it can be a long time before you ever make a profit.

I think the fellow that developed the land I bought lost money. He bought about 20 years ago at the top of the market. Now he's sold out- just when the market is starting to take off.

That's why they call it speculation. <g>
