Last nights SWSX action from the LostDood's files::

Chapter 1: Out on the town in the rain with my cane

No good night on the town should start without a good plate of interior Mexican..so I did...then I grabbed my cane and headed out.

Checked out "Poster Children" from Champagne, Il.--excellent band. Great live act. Cool head-bobbing chick on bass and vocals.

Next it was over to Antones for "Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise" from Detroit--Rock and R &B with some stinging guitars...very good.

Since we were at Antones to see "Doyle Bramhall II", who is from Austin it was nice to hang out for a couple of hours in one spot out of the wind and rain. DoyleII's Dad wrote several of Stevie Ray Vaughn's tunes and is an excellent drummer and songwriter. DoyleII is very cool and one hell of a singer and guitar player. He was in "Arc Angels" if anyone remembers them. I have known since the first time I saw DOyle that he is destined to be a star..a BIGTIME star.

"Golden Arm Trio" was a very cool and experimental jazzish kind of thing--from Austin

"The John DOe Thing" from L.A.--Lotta racket..cool, but the vocals needed help

Off to see the "Jayhawks" from Minneapolis, one of my favorite bands. Just seeing them was worth the price of the wristband. ALthough "Los Lobos" was playing around the corner I opted for Jayhawks since they only come to town every couple of years and Lobos usually makes it every 6 months.

Lastly it was "Apples in Stereo" from Denver..cool poppy band. Liked them alot

Tonight the choices are more difficult..Patty Smith is one that I hate to miss but will... So many great bands, so little time..

And so it goes....ONWARD to Sunday
