Scumbria,

re: AThlon errata

This cache coherency issue for MP systems.

Perhaps explains why NO 2 or 4 way Athlon sustems in marketplace.

I have always felt the chipset excuse was fishy.

regards,

Kash

<The Athlon errata consists of 4 items, only one of which appears serious and only affects cache coherency in MP systems. It is scheduled to be fixed.>

Did you notice from the Table3 "Cross-Reference
of Product Revision to Errata" that there is
no "crosses" for both K75-A1 and K75-A2 parts?
Meaning that only older "0.25um" parts are
affected?

Do I recall correctly that all current Athlons
are CPUID=622, or K75-A2 stepping, and therefore
there is no known "errata" anymore? Elmer Fudd, where
are you hiding? Your only hope is that AMD tech
writers misprinted the table :) :) :) :)
