Jim - Re: "Oh yes, let's see, their coach is the chokee, is he still there? Carlisimo?"

Nope.

Carlissimo was fired last December and Gary St. Jean, the GM, took over the coaching duties as well.

Re: "Only chance they have imo is for Nate Thormond to come out of retirement, in other words, they got NO chance. "

Don't know about that, but St. Jean hired Dave Cowens - one of my all time favorite OVER ACHIEVERS and former Celtic Great - as an assistant coach. I hope he is made Head Coach next year (although Cowens was not successful as a head coach at Charlotte).

Re: "Why did Webber leave that team? "

Near the end of Weber's rookie year, he and then head coach Don Nelson got into a shouting match - probably over Weber's work ethics in practice.

Webber, being a multimillionaire and headed for ROOKIE OF THE YEAR honors and a FULL TIME PRIMA DONNA - essentially gave the Warriors an ultimatum at the start of the next year - Get Rid of HIM (Webber) or get rid of Nelson as a head coach.

STUPID Warriors got rid of Webber !!!

About a half- year later, they got rid of NELSON !!

Re: "and Mullins? "

Mullins was traded away at his own request - which was honored because Mullins had been a stand-up guy for the Warriors. He wanted a chance to get a Championship ring, and the Warriors gave him that chance.

In return, the Warriors got Erick Dampier, who has proven to be a very good (not great) center - when he is healthy. And this year, HE IS NOT HEALTHY - plagued with a severe knee problem.
