>Interesting calculation on the AMCC content in SCreaMeR boxes. Are they selling any of those, BTW?

ray.

presuming that ML's referring to their 16000 Intelligent Optical Switch (http://www.sycamorenetworks.com/solutions/products/sn16000/overview.html), this product is still in the lab; however, they did sell a big bag of goods on Green Day:

recent history (read: this weekend) is sorta a blur, but if my not-so-lucid memory can serve lucid for a moment, our Dec quarter revs from both Juniper and Sycamore were 'only' 1-2% of top line (the latter pro'ly from the 8000 Node).

ah, here it is on page 2 (assuming this backdoor link gets you there):

postwords: unfortunately, got your tequila tidbits too late to do me any good, but i'll sock them away for future (read: this weekend) reference. <vbg>

>>"We believe that AMCC components add up to $1,000 per wavelength in Sycamore's 512 wavelength system -- which could result in $500,000 in revenues for each 512-wavelength system that Sycamore sells."

said back on green day:

ray: fwiw, looks like SICKamore sold the first batch of SN16000's to 360networks.

"Sycamore won't say much about its contract with 360networks. It's a "multi-year" framework deal according to Jeffry A. Kiel, a Sycamore vice president and general manager. He declines to say how many years and says the $420 million value is merely a target. "There’s no guaranteed amount in the contract," he adds."
