I know you don't believe this but the stock price *is* relevant even over short term movements.

EXLN has been extraordinarily weak this week, far more than can be explained by the market.


On the surface what you are saying seems correct, but then I look back on the day I bought AMAT, in mid 95. Turned out to be the 52 week high and the stock did an almost 50% retracement in about a month. I held for another four years and if you look at the chart for those years you'll see that that 50% retracement was completely irrelevant to the long term potential of the company and the long term price appreciation of the stock. Of course, in the short run, it was devastating to my portfolio.

What I see here in EXLN is a company that developed a great product before it's time. It managed to last through the worst of times, emerging as a different animal, only to find itself uniquely positioned to solve a need that no one else could see coming.

How could you not love that story?
