I see a parallel with the reported *stalking*. The women see it one way and Jim says he has no clue how they could feel that way.

The only problem with that logic is it is based on the premise there actually are reports of stalking. There are not. None. Nowhere. This is one of the things that naturally drives Jim crazy and one I tried to address earlier.

Recall that I asked John Miller of ABC specifically if he had ever seen any such police reports and he said he had -- which naturally shocked the heck out of us -- so Jim's lawyer called ABC, verified that whatever Miller saw was absolutely not any police report alleging stalking, and ABC edited their web site to delete that part. One of the reasons why I thought the ABC piece was lazy journalism is that had they researched this issue themselves they might never have asked Jim such a question. Oh, wait, on second thought I guess rumors make for a more salacious story. Silly me (g).

As for the thesis part, you also have to think back to your college days. Do you think your thesis advisor had a clue how you were feeling about your thesis? As I recall, I think I met with mine maybe three times in six months and I certainly didn't talk about my mental state. We're talking thesis adviser not guidance counselor, so let's keep things in perspective.
