Hi Phatboy

they believe using company x's widget gives them a competitive advantage.

so does the contract prevent a company like WIND from competing for designs for Intel (e.g.) competitors? If so, it better be a great win, if not why not announce?

Again, I would be happy to stay mute on design wins but shout from the mountain tops to announce bowling pins and to help the shareholder by tying together the bowling pins to show the pervasiveness that John Huber spoke about.

Thanks.

P.S. Be nice on that Kopin stuff :)

I would estimate that at least 30% of the design wins I've been involved with over the last several decades have specific contractual terms prohibiting public announcements.... I've asked for the rational in past and never received an adequate answer.

Perhaps, companies don't want the win to be used as a "endorsement" without their being paid for it: "If widget X was good enough for Cisco it should be good enough for your company."
