Yes, of course that is true, and is a very good point. I have been through many of these "is it the end of Cisco?" arguments, but I think that optical could be one area that really hits Cisco hard. Of course, we should never leave out the possibility that Cisco buys their way into the market as they have done so many times in the past. But it isn't going to be cheap!

Interesting battles lie ahead for this mighty primate....
