I made the mistake of doing an important trade with TD instead of using Schwab a little while ago. Had an order in for 5.5K of a fast moving stock at $17. When it was obvious it wasn't going to $17 I did a change order and bumped the order up to $18.25. After the order was received the stock traded at the $18.00 level for 30 minutes. Of course a change order only takes a few seconds so I was filled of course. I then placed an order a little while later to buy another 1K at $19 just to add to the pile. I happened to pick the right stock that day and it jumped to $24.00 after about 5 hours. I tried to sell my 6.5K right away but TD online said I had an insufficient quantity in my account. Well I knew I had it in my account so I got on the phone. After a 30 minute hold I found out that they had only filled my 1K order at $19 but not my larger order. Their excuse was that all orders have to be changed manually and they were very backlogged at the time. They didn't even apologize! Of course I was very pissed off but here is the thing that made my blood boil. I asked the person to sell the 1K they did fill me on at $24. They sold it right away. The person on the phone then had the balls to say You should be happy because you just made a very good profit. This company just costs me a $32,000 profit and they have the guts to say I should be happy with my lousy $6K profit. I don't have a violent bone in my body but if that person was on my end of the line #$$#(*#&$()#. Best Regards KEITH
