Casaubon, what you are outlining in your post is not the true TA IMHO, as it relates to other information outside the 6 variables used in pure TA...... e.g 4 for Price(O, H, L, C), Volume and time to form a chart to which to apply the various theories. Aside the moves are so violent recently that proper timing is very difficult in high beta stocks. Many stocks move 10% in a matter of several trading hours and I mean big cap's like HWP, SUNW, CSCO LSI for example. TA worked nicely about 15 to 8 years ago wen momentum investing was not all the rage and collusion was not as popular resulting in lower volatility which was more restrained (around 0.5 to 1.5% intraday not 5% to 10%) Haim
