They also left out a number of other important issues. Of the companies with cash flow trouble, what % of total market cap do they comprise, compared to the whole index?

Probably not much. I don't see any leaders mentioned there just junky B2C companies and content sites.

If those little companies start to die off, will CSCO be hurt? Nope, because retailers, content sites and software companies like ITRA don't buy CSCO stuff very much. Most of those retailers and content sites outsource their Web hosting to firms like VRIO and EXDS that will continue to grow. They don't care if 5 companies go under when 50 more are eager to launch their Web site tomorrow.

A few weeks ago Barrons predicted the demise of KEYN. Looks pretty healthy to me. Barrons hasn't been right about much in a long time.

Finally, mergers and failures in a startup sector aren't exactly BIG NEWS. Winners survive and losers die in every sector of the economy.

This article annoys me too because it takes a particular swing at Digital Island (ISLD) which I bought at the low Friday and which I thought I got a pretty good price on.

If I recall correctly, I thought ISLD just completed a secondary at 107 a share and this article insinuates that they will be out of business within a few months.

However, it does make for interesting reading and I felt this was the most appropriate place for it.

I hope that stocks on their list which are undeserving of this kind of trashing are not affected.
