OK mindmeld, I admit I was having fun with Zolt.......I agree you can't read too much into these option moves but it was a large amount. I don't know a lot about option rules but I suspect Chambers could have rolled them over without having to cash them in? On the other hand, it's always good to have a couple of hundred million in cash sitting in your investment account in case.

The key is MARKET SHARE, MARKET SHARE, MARKET SHARE!

If Roth & Co. can retain their huge lead in optics space, this company will fly past LU and possibly even CSCO in the next year or two.

Of course maintaining their current dominance will be no easy feat considering the type of competitors that will be chomping at the bits to knock NT off as they ALL realize the ramifications of Optics core backbone market leadership will transcend beyond the backbone space and extrapolate into huge additional wins in the edge & enterprise market where CSCO is dominant.

I especially liked Roth's comment about how they are being very careful (to the point of lowering prices in the optics products) not to gouge customers who are in desperate need of optics capacity/capability.

This is the type of customer focused mentality (long-term customer relationship) that will prevent box companies like CSCO from gaining any kind of foothold into the carrier market. Roth is again demonstrating keen marketing mind and a strategic vision that will ensure NT's success well into the next decade!
