re. Cisco and the threat of optical switches

Thanks for the link. Very informative. Since last summer, I've not lurked Rande's thread so that one got by me.

WRT the earlier discussion re. CSCO this post

"John Chambers and his M&A staff have an almost flawless track record not because they are uniquely brilliant, but because they have learned how to perfect being fast followers. For those of you who don't know what that means, it's like letting others make the mistakes about where the market is going, then once it is clear, following fast and fierce, but being better than the ground breaker."

was to the point.

Voop,
I see you've been following LPTHA as I have. They are certainly no gorilla candidate at this point but everyone following the tech stocks should know how important the optical switches are.As yet no one has produced an all optical switch. There is a nice article on this at www.lightreading.com. Also it is worth reading post 15120 on the Yahoo Lightpath message board from a guy who attended the OFC in Baltimore a couple of weeks ago.I believe we are going to be reading more and more about optical switches in the near future. The more we understand about them the better we will be able to evaluate JDSU, Lucent, CSCO, etcetera and their moves in this area.Unfortunately, I'm a medical guy and only starting to understand this field.
