In the state, IT was used effectively in the registration department and now it was proposed to provide 18 services under one roof using computers. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Urban Development Bandaru Dattatraya said the IT industry must address itself to providing content in local language, which was also relevant for the country. He said the government had permitted ISPs to have their own gateways to bring in competition, efficiency, bring down costs and make these services more affordable to the common man. Technet Managing Director I. Chandrashekar Rao said the infrastructure would add to the additional communications infrastructure required for the country. The company would test various services like telemedicine, primary diagnostic care, online education?primary to higher?through the internet and study the impact on rural and remote segments on these services -India Today india-today.com
