The ape story is very good and a neat parallel to why folks do the same things over and over. We have a mind set that fears change because what we know is comfortable, and change involves the unknown. In a way, the animals are smarter than us. If you have an old hound dog that noses his way into the house through a screen door and you take a rolled up newspaper and swat him across the nose, he won't come through that door again. We keep doing the same things over and over and getting our noses bloodied but we keep trying!
I know that God will straighten us up one day and we will have the good sense to listen.
James

Steve,

<<Don't follow the footsteps of those before you. Seek God's truth on your own.>>

I couldn't agree more. :-)

Dear Steve.
I love this experiment and can picture the years of built up hostility between people that do not even know why it is there. Thank you for this.
We see dimly now through glass but when we are with Him we will see clearly, Amen. Since predestination has scriptures that can go either way I chose to obey the great commission and believe that people can accept Jesus as their Saviour. If I am wrong and it is predestined then Praise the Lord they were saved according to His perfect will either way. I do not understand why this can be so important to some people that it is only predestination. Is it a lack of desire to accept personal responsibility? I do not know but believe that He is good and perfect and will save many as He loves the whole world and does not desire that any should perish but have everlasting life with Him. Your point on time is very helpful and has given me something to meditate on while studying this topic.
I enjoy your posts and pray for you and your family to be blessed in abundance,
Nancy
