I believe the CRY referred to in the spam is on the TSE (not that I'm interested).

On another topic, if you use Andrews pitchfork is there a good book on the subject. I've seen an online tutorial, but it only whets the appetite.

LOL! Spam in mermites. I remember it too. I see that some of you guys remember the ham MRE's, but were any of you guys in long enough ago to remember the "dried beef patty" meal? Horrific. Potatoes au gratin (aka, potatoes all rotten)? War crime in a brown vinyl bag.

As nasty as some of them were, when I was in Ranger School (1991), we ate everything in those packs...sugar, salt, coffee (like dip), gum...everything. As a side note, now they augment the one MRE per day (summer) or two MRE per day (winter) regimen with two slices of bread and a banana - nutritional concerns and all. Ah, to reminisce. :)
